Vehicle Wraps

1. Dibs on grabbing the attention

Colorful vehicle wraps with brightening textures – who wouldn’t turn back twice and look at these beautiful colors?

Nobody would make an effort to turn and admire a black or grey passing van, but as soon as they are a vehicle passing with colorful graphics sprawling over a sheet covering the fan – obviously the particular company will be a witness to more of the attention and admiration from every next passerby. It’s eye catching and entrancing and gets bonus points for the particular company.

2. Protection assurance

Vehicle wraps always protects the body from scratches and road debris forming holes and dents. These large sheets of vinyl can easily be removed whenever you want without fading the color of the vehicle and causing any alterations. This vehicle wraps help to keep the vehicles in appropriate conditions to get sold in the future. It does not cause any damage and thus the vehicles can be used for a long time without any replacements.

3. Cost is not an issue

When it comes to advertising, you need to continuously keep paying money for as long as you wish the advertisement to come out. Where as in case of vehicle wraps, you can change them whenever you wish to and that too at a much more cost friendly situation. You can opt for an initial payment of half of long time advertising campaigns and make use of it over a long period of time. Hence the vehicle wraps appear to be cost effective as well thus only adding to the lists of benefits it provides us with.

Custom Powder Coating

On top of offering a better environmental footprint, a custom powder coating simply looks better. Unlike, so many opportunities out there to do the right thing by Mother Nature, then, this is one that doesn’t actually involve any real sacrifice on your part. These coatings can reach every nook and cranny on your product, plus you won’t lack for options in terms of the appearance you end up with. Everything from candy paint to copper is available.

A custom coating is also extremely durable. Even the above benefits wouldn’t amount to much if you had to constantly keep reapplying the coating (this would definitely hurt its environmental benefits, too). However, there’s a reason satellite dishes, traffic-light casings and even heavy duty machinery have all been treated with powder coatings in the past. Despite the relentless wear and tear these objects are up against, a solid coating will not give up.

Lastly, there are countless applications for a powder coating, only a few of which we already mentioned. People have used this process to help their automobile or motorcycle stand out. It’s also been used in combination with stencils to make an eye-catching advertisement that ensures an individual’s business gets the attention it deserves.

Waterless Car Wash

An easy, economical, eco-friendly, and quick way to clean your vehicle between washes is to use a waterless car wash. A waterless car wash uses a pre-prepared lubricating spray that is used to thoroughly saturate each section of your car, which later gets wiped, one section at a time. Then any light dirt or grime can be carefully wiped off, section by section. Ideally, you would use microfiber cloths, which will not hurt the car’s finish. Waterless car washes should really only be used on cars without heavy dirt build-up. Too much dirt, and you risk scratching the car’s finish.

Finding the Right Product: You can choose to buy various wash formulas, which you can purchase online or at an auto parts store. There are ready-to-use formulas, or you can purchase a concentrate, which you must dilute before using. Some waterless car washes even include wax to protect the vehicle as you wash it. It takes an average time of 15-20 minutes to wash your medium-sized car using this method. If you are concerned about the chemicals, just be sure to pick a VOC compliant product, which is considered safe. You can find one with the main ingredient being organic and free of petrochemicals.

Using the Right Towels: Be sure to choose your towels very carefully. Using a soft towel with a deep nap gives plenty of room for dirt to remain in the towel, instead of being scoured against the paint. Using a thin, flat towel will not provide any spot for the loosened dirt to go, so the dirt will get rubbed against the paint as you wipe. An example of a good towel choice is a microfiber towel that has a minimum weight of 300 GSM (grams per square meter). Most microfiber towels last a long time, and can be washed and re-used 40-50 times, depending on the quality of the towel.

It is important to avoid using the same towel to clean your wheels that you use to clean the surface of your car. The wheels are usually covered in brake dust, so you shouldn’t risk putting that on your car’s paint finish. Buy some different colors of towels, so you can designate a specific color of towel just for detailing the wheels.

Advantages Parking Systems

These products offer vehicle safety, which is very important in today’s environment. Many of such are designed with a barrier that lifts into place, enabling the driver to maneuver into the bay and then put up the barrier in front of their vehicle, eliminating any risk of anyone trying to steal the vehicle.

Because most of such parking systems come with remote-control access these days, it improves driver safety dramatically. In the past these parking barriers were manually lifted or put down, resulting in drivers having to leave their vehicle to lift or lower the system. With remote control, the driver remains in their vehicle until they are securely parked, once parked they are able to get out of their vehicle and go where they need to go.

Many of these parking systems available on the market today are visually appealing, they are not ugly pieces of metal that are in place and barely used. They are stylish and modern, blending in with the aesthetic appeal of the building without compromising on the functionality they give.

Another of the many benefits of these parking systems is how they cut frustration and anger for those who own the parking spaces. If you are paying good money each month for your own private parking space, then you shouldn’t have to find another bay to park in after a long day at the office. Because of how these barriers protect the space, drivers can arrive, enjoy remote-controlled access to their bay and park with minimal frustration.

Finally, these barriers are easily identifiable, immediately advising other drivers that the bay belongs to someone else. Putting up a small sign with a name on it or placing a “reserved” painted on the floor doesn’t have the impact you need to drop strangers from taking advantage of your bay. It is imperative that whatever solution you choose is noticeable to all other drivers who may inclined to take advantage of your space.

Some Items To Keep Car Completely

Backseat Organizer

Helping your kids in keeping their toys, water bottles, umbrellas, coloring books etc in a good backseat organizer in your car can be a great idea. This will be quite beneficial in taking good care of your kid’s belongings and thereby help you in keeping your car fully organized, neat and clean.

Waste Bag

Make sure that you must have a small waste bag inside your car. This will benefit in gathering all the litter inside your vehicle, and ultimately disposing of at a suitable place. It is also necessary to train your children about using the trash bags, and guide them to throw all the garbage, empty bottles, packets, wrappers, etc, inside the trash bag. Don’t heap the litter for long and empty the waste bag, wherever you find trash bins.

Invest in a good vacuum

The inside of your car is just as important as the outside of it. A good vacuum will benefit you in keeping the inside of your car clean and easily remove the dirt from the covers. It is recommended that you purchase a wet or dry vacuum to help take care of stain and dirt that get into the inside of your car.

Combustion Engine Works

The entire process only takes four strokes of the piston.

  • Intake Stroke
  • Compression Stroke
  • Power Stroke (Combustion Stroke)
  • Exhaust Stroke

Intake Stroke

As the piston moves down on its first stroke, the intake valve opens and allows the combustion chamber to fill with air and fuel. This creates a space ready to explode even without compression. But add compression and you create a lot of potential energy. It’s possible to add more fuel and more air during the intake stroke to create a more powerful mixture to increase horsepower but be sure to check your tuning if you do add performance parts.

Compression Stroke

When the intake stroke ends at the bottom of the cylinder, the compression stroke begins. The piston moves up and forces the air and gas into a tiny space. A 10:1 compression ratio will compress the air-gas mixture down to 1/10 the size of the compression chamber. The higher the compression ratio the more potential energy which means more power for your pedal. Compress for power. Note that higher compression ratios require higher octane fuels.

Power Stroke (Combustion Stroke)

The power stroke starts when the compression stroke hits top dead center (TDC) (or before top dead center, BTDC) and a perfectly timed spark ignites the gases. This moment is what the engine is all about. Getting the right gases (air-fuel ratio) ignited at the right time with as much energy as possible. The size of the chamber, the compression ratio, the spark, the timing—everything is to maximize the energy of the explosion and then transfer it to mechanical motion. The power stroke thrusts the piston downward propelled by the explosion leading to the fourth stroke.

Exhaust Stroke

On the piston’s second upward stroke, the exhaust valve opens and the piston pushes the burnt gases up and out of the exhaust valves. When your exhaust system is maximized, the pressure the piston encounters on its way up is minimal and the valve moves with less restriction which can give you power gains. Also, with a high performing exhaust system, the exhaust stroke is more likely to push all the burnt gases out of the chamber clearing the way for a clean intake stroke and a stronger power stroke. The cycle is complete and the piston and chamber are ready to begin again.

Spray Painting Car

The number of steps involved in spray painting a car can be as simple as four or five to about ten. But the sequencing remains the same.

Preparing the car

The car needs a thorough wash of the exterior surface with water and mild soap and complete drying. Removing fixtures from the interior is necessary. A closed well-lit and well ventilated garage can be used or an open space in the yard where access to air and light is easy.

Sanding the car

The surface of the car should be completely scrubbed with large sandpaper to remove the old paint. This can be back-breaking but once the paint starts peeling off its quite easy. Then finer sandpaper should be used for removing scratches and signs of corrosion. Any minor gaps must be filled with putty and dried before painting leaving the entire exterior smooth.

Masking off and taping

Prevention of over-spraying is essential using masking tape or pre taped film so that outline tape lines are not visible. In case painting is done inside a garage, covering the entire car with plastic sheeting is a good option.

Applying primer

Primer spray paint is good at filling scratches and should be sprayed over clean, dry and sanded exterior. One or more coats can be applied leaving about 10-15 minutes between coats.

Spray painting – first coat

After covering windows, frames, bumpers, wheel rims with newspaper and tape to seal off the area not being painted first, use the spray paint gun and position yourself about 10 inches to a foot away from the car surface. An even and regular spraying motion allows the coat to spread evenly and build up a nice and smooth surface. Now the paint has to be left to dry completely.

Adding a second coat

Professionals advise a second paint layer to give the car a completely new look. But getting that look depends entirely on allowing the first coat to dry completely before the second coat of paint goes up. A quick rub through with car wax gives a shiny and smooth feel to the car.

Fitting Stainless Steel Bumpers

This winter I turned my attention to the Austin Healey’s chrome work, none of which was showing any rust but was becoming a bit dull through many years of being polished. I bought new parts for the bonnet grille and new door handles from AH Spares and fitted these and then turned my attention to the bumpers.

Last winter we repainted our Jaguar E-Type and I had the rear bumpers re-chromed. This turned from a straightforward job into a 3 month saga and cost the same as a new set of bumpers. So rather than go though the same pain with the Austin Healey bumpers I decided to just replace them. While searching for replacements (AH Spares and others) I came across a company which offers highly polished stainless steel bumpers instead of chrome.

The price worked out about the same as new chrome ones and they would have the benefit that the finish can’t develop pock marks, rust through or polish off. The only possible fly in the ointment was that they are manufactured and sold by a non UK company – based in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam. This doesn’t mean I am xenophobic. It is just that most of our classic hire cars (the US ones excepted) were built fairly locally I have the luxury of the parts suppliers being local, and if there is anything wrong with any of the parts I can pop in the car and return them. Not so easy to return to Vietnam.

Anyway I decided to go ahead and order them. Ordering was simple enough and they were shipped via TNT the following day, arriving here within about a week. Removing the old bumpers was really easy, as I had removed them a few years ago to clean and polish them, and paint the inside and I had used copper grease on the bolts when I re-assembled them.

As ever fitting the new stainless steel bumpers took a little longer. They were all made to the same dimensions as the old ones, all the holes in the right places and came complete with a set of bolts. Here I have two minor criticisms:

1) the bolts are mild steel and not stainless steel to match the bumpers
2) they came with flat washers but I always add spring washers – which really ought to have been included

Automotive Paint Protection Film

The primary purpose of Clear Bra is to prevent scuffs, rock chips and other types of vandalism which cause damage to a vehicle’s paint and body. It is commonly applied on the front facing portions of cars, trucks, and SUVs. It may also be used on the full body of a vehicle to provide maximum protection for the vehicle’s factory paint.

Originally developed for use in military applications, it is now commercially available for public use. The automotive industry took note of the benefits offered by the paint protection film and began applying it to race cars to protect the expensive carbon fiber and fiberglass bodies. Originally the film was thicker and tough to install because the thick film was designed to protect helicopter blades from sand erosion.

The film available on the market today is specifically designed to be flexible and conformable to a vehicle’s body. There are many options available in the market with specific types manufactured primarily with the technical capability to offer top level protection and even self-healing capabilities.

Scratches on brand new or well-maintained vehicles not only destroy the look of your car, truck or SUV, they reduce the resale value. To prevent a car from suffering at the hands of vandalism or road debris, paint protection film is the perfect solution.

Clear Bra has the strength to withstand the hazards on the road such as debris, rocks, sand and cement. It will shield the areas on the vehicle where it is installed and keep the body looking like it did the day you applied the film. Many of the premium films have self-healing properties so the film will heal itself when damaged by scratches and cracks. Another great application is to protect your vehicle from children playing near the car and scratching the paint surface with their toys.

The most reliable brands of paint protection film on the market today are the original Clear Bra, 3M, Suntek, and Xpel. Xpel and 3M are the preferred films used in our shop due to their self-healing properties and industry leading warranties. In addition to full rolls of film, many of these manufacturers offer the DIY enthusiast pre-cut kits that are unique to a vehicle’s make, model and year.

Today there is no shortage of cheaply made films imported from places like China and India and sold on sites like eBay and Amazon. Always be wary of any material that does not come from a reputable manufacturer. Cheap paint protection film will not protect your vehicle, and often the cheap adhesives used in this type of material will damage your factory paint when you attempt to remove it.

There are many types of installation for paint protection film. Most installers do not have plotters. Therefore they have no choice but to apply the fill directly from the roll and cut the material to length on your vehicle. Reputable installation shops that have invested in plotters use specially designed software to create a pattern for the shape of the panel on which the film is to be installed and have it plotted or cut with precision. A plotter can also be used to modify the cut pattern to fit custom patterns such as aftermarket body kits and bumpers.

A popular installation technique for the DIY customer is a pre-cut kit. A pre-cut kit can be ordered by your vehicle make, model, and year and comes ready to install out of the box. The downside of a pre-cut kit is if you damage one of the sections of material during installation, you’ll have to purchase an entirely new kit. Pre-Cut Kits are also not available for any custom parts you have on your vehicle such as an aftermarket bumper, body kit, or spoiler.

When you are looking for a Clear Bra installer, it is imperative to select a reputable shop with good reviews. The installation requires cutting near your car, truck or SUV’s paint with razor blades. An impatient or unskilled installer can quickly cause substantial and irreversible damage to your expensive vehicle.

All about Drifting With Toyo Tyres

You let the hand brake down and prepare yourself for a fast getaway. You trust Toyo Tyres because they can hold to the ground no matter what. As you edge more forward than your opponent, you can feel the speed pushing you back into your seat. As the road curve approaches you, instinctively you hold tighter onto the steering wheel. With your other hand you prepare to pull the hand brake up.

As you brake, you can hear the tyres screeching as they drift across the tar. Smoke can be seen in your rear view mirror hiding your opponent in the pungent burning rubber smell. You release the hand brake and accelerate to win your victory.

You can hear the tyres move in normal motion. Their smooth rotation makes the race more comfortable and quicker. As you approach the next curve, you notice that it cuts through a tunnel and you realise that you need to have maximum control to avoid knocking into the concrete cave. You lock your hand around the wheel and hold tight onto the hand brake once again. You feel the car slipping too closely to the wall and pull the wheel in the opposite direction as you release the hand brake and accelerate narrowly missing the wall.

You feel proud that your Toyo Tyres managed to hold on to such torque and heat. The pain in your arm has finally been felt after that momentary adrenaline was felt. Your foot is stiff and locked at the ankle from the angle that you held it on the throttle. What would you have done without performance tyres?
